Crowned by Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, the Amboseli National Park belongs to the elite of Kenya's most popular parks. The name "Amboseli" comes from a Maasai word which means "salty dust” and it is one of the best places in Africa to view 900 free-ranging elephants up close.

Covering an area of 392 square km or 151miles² and having a mixed topography of acacia woodland, plains, rocky thorn bush, swamps and marshes this diversity, together with a long dry season, guarantees superb wildlife viewing of the large concentrations of African animals living in this natural habitat.

Apart from guaranteed elephant sightings, Amboseli National Park offers unique and breathtaking scenery for viewing Africa's animals. Amboseli presents some of the best opportunities to witness African animals because of the rare vegetation due to the long dry months. It is home to diverse wild animals, which include the African elephant, lion, Zebra, giraffe, buffalo, impala, cheetah, hyena, and wildebeest among other African animals. This park also presents 370 species of Kenyan birds, both large and small, to see if you keep your eyes open and explore at every sighting.
