Well-chosen to be the most picturesque trail to Kilimanjaro, the Lemosho route offers breath-taking vistas on various sides of the mountain. It’s a well recommended route for the hikers, who want to experience beautiful scenery and a high summiting success rate. The route approaching Mount Kilimanjaro is from the west. The trek starts from Moshi to Londorossi gate. The pathway continues through the rain forest to Shira Ridge. The route crosses the whole Shira Plateau from east to west enjoyably. Crowds are fewer until the route connects the Machame route near Lava Tower. Followed by, the route navigates beneath Kilimanjaro’s Southern Ice Field approaching Barafu and finally reaching the summit. The descent is made through Mweka route.
